NAMMAMMA SHARADHE [ Monday to Friday - 8:00 pm & 10:30 am ]

Is a story about two characters both named Sharadha. One Sharadha is from the metropolitan city Bangalore, where as the other one belongs to Chitrapura, a small village in Malnad. Both are 32 years old. Sharadha who stays in Bangalore is very bold & modern, where as the other Sharadha is a very traditional girl. Nam Amma Sharadhe is the story about these two Sharadhas.

Anasuya & Harikrishna are the pillars of a joint family that resides at Chitrapura, a small village in the Sahyadri Ghats. Both their sons Santosh and Harsha get married on the same day to Arundhathi and Sharadha respectively. Even though Hariskrishna is the head of the family, Anasuya has all the complete control over the family.

Santosh and his wife have done their Bsc Agri. Arudhathi is a very active lady, who does not want to sit dile. Arudhathi had an abortion once and is now suffering from the grief of never being able to conceive ever again. Harsha works for a bank. Harsha’a wife Sharadha has studied only till standard 9. They have an 8 year old daughter called Sindhu.

Sharadha has now conceived again and her family is expecting a boy child. For some dramatic reasons they just do not want another girl child. What are these reasons?

Shari, that is Sharadha who stays in Bangalore belongs to a modern, progressive thinking, rich family. She has completed her B.com. and is now living in with her childhood friend Rohit much against the will of her family. After many years Shari decides to have a child. In the meantime Rohit loses his job. They are faced with a situation whether to go ahead with the pregnancy or not. Shari goes back to her old job to support them. The story takes another twist at this stage.

Will Sharadha of Chitrapura have a boy child? Will Shari of Bangalore be able to go ahead with her pregnancy?
